To ensure your VELOAIR air jacket continues to provide rapid protection, inflating in under 0.095 seconds, it is essential to use only genuine Racesafe branded canisters. Each VELOAIR purchase includes one canister to get you started, but for all future deployments, we recommend keeping spares on hand. We cannot guarantee the efficacy, compatibility, or safety standards of third-party canisters.

Size Selection Guide

Canisters are available in four sizes, specifically engineered to match the airbag volume of your jacket size for optimal inflation:

  • 30g Canister: Required for sizes YR1 and YR2.
  • 38g Canister: Required for sizes YR3 and Adult 1 (A1).
  • 45g Canister: Required for sizes Adult 2 (A2) and Adult 3 (A3).
  • 55g Canister: Required for sizes Adult 4 (A4) and Adult 4 Tall (A4T).

Easy Post-Deployment Reset

The VELOAIR system is designed for convenience; you can reactivate the jacket yourself in a matter of minutes without specialized technical knowledge. Following a fall, simply replace the empty canister with a new, correctly sized branded one. Mechanical Activation Procedure

The VELOAIR utilizes a purely mechanical deployment system triggered by rider displacement during a fall.

Saddle Attachment

Secure the provided saddle strap around the stirrup bars of your saddle prior to mounting.

Lanyard Connection

Once mounted, clip the VELOAIR lanyard securely onto the central ring of the saddle strap.

Mechanical Triggering

When the distance between the rider and saddle exceeds the lanyard length during a fall, tension releases the keyball mechanism.

Ultra-Fast Inflation

The internal firing pin punctures the CO2 gas canister, fully inflating the airbag in under 0.095 seconds.

What to Do After Deployment

Follow the steps below for resetting, checking and storing your VELOAIR after use.

Replace the CO₂ Canister

After deployment, remove the used canister and install the approved replacement for your jacket size:

30g YR1 / YR2
38g YR3 / A1
45g A2 / A3
55g A4 / A4T

Inspect the Jacket

Check the vest carefully after a fall. Look for visible damage, loose parts or anything that appears out of place before using it again.

Clean Gently

If the jacket needs cleaning, wipe it with water only. Do not machine wash. Do not use bleach or detergents.

Store Properly

Once reset, store the VELOAIR in its smart jacket bag and keep it in a dry place away from radiators or other heat sources. It can also be laid flat if needed.

Book Annual Servicing

A yearly professional service is recommended to keep the system working as intended. This should include mechanical checks, trigger inspection and airbag testing.

Keep Registration Active

If the product is registered, the Care Programme may provide extended warranty support and replacement benefits, provided servicing requirements are maintained.

What colours does the VeloAir come in?

The VeloAir comes in Black and Midnight; colours that have been chosen to compliment show jackets on the market.

Can I wear the VeloAir with a body protector?

The VeloAir is designed as a close fitting, stand-alone air jacket. However, if you wish to wear the VeloAir over a body protector and it fits comfortably, this is also fine.

What areas does the VeloAir protect?

The VeloAir offers torso, hip and neck coverage.

What size canister do I need?

4 sizes are available to provide effective protection according to the airbag volume. VeloAir uses 30g for YR1 / YR2, 38g for YR3 / A1, 45g for A2 / A3 and 55g for A4 / A4T.

MotionAir canisters cannot be used in the VeloAir.

Is there a minimum weight to wear a VeloAir?

Riders must weigh more than 30 kg to wear the VeloAir.

Certified to NF S72-800:2022, it features rapid airbag inflation in under 0.095 seconds.

Care and maintenance

Can I wash my VeloAir?

Hang in a dry place away from a radiator or heat source, or lay flat. Storing your VeloAir in it's bag is a great way to keep it clean.
